How to Find Your Missing Earring
Gals, how many lone earrings do you have in your jewelry box sitting there staring at you everytime you open the lid? I have quite a few. Why do I keep them? Well, you just never know ...hey, it might turn up when I least expect it! In fact I've found just enough earrings in the most expected places that I continue to hold out hope for the few that are still gathering dust in my jewelry drawer. If only there were an earring lost and found site where we could locate a match for our earring. Well, after thinking about it for over two years, there finally is! http://www.lostmyearring.co.uk/. I had tried my own site but gave up too soon due to lack of funds, knowledge for promoting it, and time. Now there is a site in uk doing this. I hope they really take off. I thought I'd be kind and put there link in my article so they'd get more traffic. Thanks to the person in comments section of suggested this site.
Though the chances are probably slim after loosing an earring and not finding it for over a year, many of us continue to hold onto our one remaining earring. Every woman I've spoken to about this tells me she has several single earrings she has kept for years. Maybe they were sentimental or maybe they just looked perfect and she had some of her best times while wearing them. Many of us think that we might even go to a jeweler and have them remade into a necklace -but how many of us really ever do? My own jewelry box contains an opal stud, an earring from a pair that my husband bought me from Brighton, and some gold and silver hoops that used to be staples in my everyday wardrobe until I lost one.
If you aren't having any luck finding your missing earring, then hop on over to http://www.lostmyearring.co.uk/ and post an image of your missing earring. Perhaps someone out there found your earring or maybe they have the same pair and they'd like to give them to you or sell you the match to your separated set.
Don't give up looking for your earring though. Great places to search are under furniture. If you drop an earring it can bounce a surprising distance and may be laying across the room somewhere. Under the carseat is another location where I've found several missing earrings on the rare occasions when I vaccum the car. Look under couch cushions and inside chairs. Think about where you might have laid the earring when you were speaking on the phone. Shake out your clothing in your closet in case the earring accidentally landed there. Last but not least, ask your husband if it's possible to take apart the washer and look inside of it. Believe it or not I once found an earring in the dishwasher!

I can't believe someone else hasn't done this. I have some cherished earrings that I hold on to hoping to some day find it's mate or even a deal on eBay or something. I have no idea how to go about this but I am game.
Before my mother died she told me about the same idea.... I am a web designer and in her memory have already begun a business plan and marketing approach. This was part of my research to find if any was out there is cyberspace.
Thanks

been looking for this for over a year. Have tried to order from jewerlers. I have 6 stray diamond earrings that I would love to have mates for. I don't know how or have the energy to start site but surely would use it. I even looked up avail addresses about 6 months ago and alot seem to be taken, thought someone would have started a site by now.
Being a bit Older I came up with this Idea back in the late 80's and then came ebay. Maybe some one (not me sorry) could start a Ebay store? Anyone with a store already??
I am hearsick over a "keyhole" style earring from the Sundance Catalog that is very old and I've lost the mate.
I wish there were a site that people could send photos of favorite lost earrings ! I see I'm not alone..................sad in Pacific Palisades, CA
I too just came up with this idea and was google-ing it to find out if anyone else out there already started this. If so, can someone alert me! (cdances@aol.com)
